Last Saturday week, following the evening of Chinese celebrations at DCU that I wrote about here, I ventured for the first time into the (unknown, for me) world of BizCamp Dublin.
When the call for attendees and speakers went out, I signed up and volunteered to give a short talk on what might be in store for business between Ireland and China in 2010.
Happily, I was one of the 40 selected to speak and was scheduled to present the final session before lunch in the Barley room.
Before my time to present, I checked out some of the other presentations around the Guinness Store House on what was a lovely Saturday morning.
Thanks also to the 30 or so people who sat in on my presentation. There was some very interesting interactions in the 40 minutes – some of the topics raised I’ll be following up on here in the coming weeks. For the record, my slides from the presentation are available here.
During the afternoon I went along to the Panel Discussion – Taking the Rough with the Smooth, as well checking out another couple of very interesting presentations. The full listing of presentations from the day are available on the page linked to above where my slides are.
A big thank you must go to the organisers and supporters of BizCamp and to all who attended. I was a little disappointed to see that less than 300 of the originally committed 500 people attended, especially as even during the Chinese celebrations evening on the night before, I met a few people who would have been very keen to attend if spaces had been available.
Looking forward to the next Bizcamp now.
